For survivors, blogging can be a way to cope with the stress of treatment, life and emotions. It can be cathartic and cleansing and, for families separated by thousands of miles, it can be a way to update with those they love. Yesterday, I asked our Twitter community what cancer blogs they read/write. Below are a few that were submitted. If you have a blog that you’d like to share, please post the link in the comments below and tell us why you blog.

This year we’re providing up to 65 grants to recreate and implement three community programs across the country. The programs; SuperSib’s STAR Program, Cancer Transitions, and the Creative Center’s Artist in Residence Program, help people affected by cancer deal with the emotional, physical and practical aspects of cancer.
SuperSibs:

SuperSibs! ensures that these children, the “shadow survivors,” do not feel alone, insignificant or forgotten, and can face the future with strength, courage and hope.…

The Nonprofit Film Festival- Lights. Camera. Help.- is the world’s first film festival dedicated entirely to nonprofit and cause-driven films. This 3-day event gives films-for-a-cause the attention they deserve by putting them up on the big screen in a theater setting. LIVESTRONG submitted a film to the festival called “Missed” about the difficulties of being a young adult with cancer. We are honored to be a part of the festival and appreciate all that came out to watch the film. You can watch the film below. We’d love to hear your feedback.

4 pork chops, 2 pasta dinners, 3 breakfast burritos, 4 slices of homemade pie, a dozen or so homemade cookies, several BBQ sandwiches, more Honey Stinger peanut butter bars than I care to remember, 6 pancakes, 6 pieces of sausage, 4 smoothies, too many Michelob Ultras, french toast, 2 turkey tenders, Pepsi Pot Roast and mashed potatoes, 1 “stolen” bike, and $1 million raised in the fight against cancer. This is the first 5 days of RAGBRAI. The food and miles logged is all me – the money and awareness raised, well, that is another story.
