Because I’m 8 months pregnant with twins, I was not able to travel for LIVESTRONG Day. I figured that I would host LIVESTRONG Day at my son√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s sch00l. Cancer Survivor and Tucson LIVESTRONG Day organizer Penny Waller (center) and supporters post ride. The Tucson Mayor led the riders out after reading his proclamation declaring it LIVESTRONG Day and also declared an “unoffical no passing rule”. So inspiring to see the support and to discuss with folks the impact of this disease and all that needs to be done.

I’m at Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, Texas, where the hospital is having a great event for survivors. Linda braaten, who will go get chemo in an hour, is the local organizer.
She created a tribute wall with survivor stories and awarded mvp medals to patients and their families. We’re going to tour the cancer center now, and the local news is here.
This is the main event out of seven that is hosted here – the Mayor proclaimed it LIVESTRONG Day. More to come!
I’m in Atlanta, Georgia today with LIVESTRONG Day organizer Janet Kempe and LIVESTRONG Army Captain Kathy Pollard. We just left our first stop of 4. It was very inspirational to meet the incredible medical professionals, caregivers who are there to support the patients, and then the patients…the words that come to mind: courageous, tough, beautiful and hopeful. This is what LIVESTRONG Day is about…. It was truly an honor to meet everyone there and they have inspired me to do more in the…
