I spent the morning (and part of the afternoon) in the Texas Senate waiting to see the outcome of the vote to fund and establish the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.

Thank You

I wish I could say thank you to everyone who participated in LIVESTRONG Day. I’ll say it again – it was a success. Since it would be impossible to thank all of you individually, here is my best attempt.

Thank you to the thousands of people who participated in the day. We are making progress, but we must continue to fight everyday.

A special thank you to Senator Tom Harkin, Senator Olympia Snowe, Representative Jan Schakowsky and Representative Sue Myrick for their support in sponsoring our legislation, The Cancer Screening, Treatment, and Survivorship Act of 2007.

This bill is a bold expansion of access to early detection, treatment and survivorship services aimed at reducing cancer mortality rates and improving the quality of life of those diagnosed.
