This year’s LIVESTRONG Day has brought out the creative side in folks. We want to highlight people that have come up with some really great “out of the box” events. Take a look at these for inspiration and put your own event on the map today!

Barbara Harris and A Taste of Yellow
Food and wine blogging gave Barbara an outlet during her chemo treatment. Barbara’s LIVESTRONG Day event is called A Taste of Yellow and encourages other food bloggers to post a yellow themed recipes in the weeks preceding LIVESTRONG Day. Bloggers are encouraged to share their cancer experiences in the post. A round up of all the entries is posted on Barbara’s blog on the 2nd.

Jaime Lindsay, A Wing Walker and the Flying Circus Air Show:
Jamie is a LIVESTRONG Leader, stage 4 lymphoma survivor, skydiver and pilot. To promote LIVESTRONG Day, Jamie flew a LIVESTRONG Day banner behind a plane at the local airshow. He raised over $500, gave out 700 wristbands and raised awareness about LIVESTRONG. A wing walker dedicated his 100th walk to the foundation.

Leana May and International Beanie Babies
Leana May is a physician and a LIVESTRONG Leader in New York. Her LIVESTRONG Day effort is to send Beanie Babies to pediatric oncology wards on each continent. Flyers with basic cancer facts translated in local languages will accompany the stuffed animals.

You don’t have to host a huge event for LIVESTRONG Day. Think outside the box and put it on the map today!
