Unite and Fight - Livestrong Blog

Hello LIVESTRONG blog readers! My name is Sarah Vauthier, and I am the new Intake Coordinator for the LIVESTRONG SurvivorCare program and newest member of the LAF Team. I am from the Dominican Republic, a beautiful Island located in the Caribbean, and I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I moved to Texas in 2006 and have lived in both Austin and Houston, where I worked for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as the Patient Services Coordinator. I am very excited about my new position here at LAF, as the “voice” for LIVESTRONG SuvirvorCare.

For those of you not familiar with this program, let me go over it quickly: It’s a free support program for anybody affected by cancer. If you have emotional concerns or need counseling; if you need financial assistance; have questions about insurance or have job concerns; if you want to know about clinical trials and developing treatments; or if you simply want to discuss your cancer, please call me at 866-673-7205 or complete an intake form online at SurvivorCare and I can connect you to the services and support programs that fit your needs. With the collaboration of our SurvivorCare partner organizations, CancerCare, Patient Advocate Foundation and EmeringMed, we can help you face the challenges and changes that are part of the cancer experience.

Welcome Sarah. I will be in touch I’m sure as I go through my journey with my 3rd primary cancer.
