CNN posted a great article on their home page yesterday about how to tell a child they have cancer “Honey, You’re Really Sick”.

This article gives great tips about how to talk to a little survivor about his/her diagnosis. The LAF also offers great resources for families and schools. Below is a list of some things we funded and info you can use to support a kid dealing with cancer:

LIVESTRONG at School: How to explain cancer to classmates

Living and Learning with Cancer: Helps educators and parents understand the transition back to school after cancer

Young Adult Resource Page: Resources for adolescents with cancer

Life After Cancer brochure for young adults

Special grantee: www.supersibs.org
Supersibs! is a new and innovate nonprofit organization, was created to address the emotional turmoil and feelings of displacement and unimportance often felt by the brothers and sisters of children diagnosed with cancer.

    Dear Sirs

My sons fiend, Michael, a 14 year old norwegian cyclist got the canser diagnose resently. Right now he is in the “Radium Hospital” in Oslo, wearing his yellow Armstrong bracelet. Would it by any chance be possible to get Lance to call him or send a personal message to encourage ?

Best regards from Norway where Lance was World Champion 1993

Please confirm ok ( or not ok ;)
