In The Family – on PBS
This Wednesday, October 1st at 10pm EST (times and dates of broadcast differ by location, check your local listings), PBS stations will be airing In The Family. In The Family brings to life the story of young women looking for balance between quality of life and cancer prevention, in the face of a genetic mutation. This film humanizes the statistics and sheds light on the physical and emotional considerations that are part of this arduous decision making process.

Paul Newman
Reading the news this morning, I was sad to learn that cancer claimed Paul Newman yesterday. Here’s another one of our greatest taken by a disease we can and should do more against. Our thoughts are with his family and the many people who loved him as they adjust to this profound loss.

R.I.P. Paul Newman
We are sad to hear that Paul Newman lost his battle to cancer last night. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends.
Newman was a hero in the world of philanthropy and his Newman’s Own brand and Hole in the Wall Gang Camp serve as models for all of us trying to make a difference in the lives of others.

Press conference done! Great response to the need driving this whole initiative. Lots of cycling questions but even more about cancer and the awareness campaign launched today. Most refreshing and invigorating was “how can I help”, the refrain heard over and over.
