I had the honor of attending livestrong day at the Joan Karnell Cancer Center at Pennsylvania Hospital in my former hometown of Philadelphia, PA! The City of Brotherly Love lived up to its reputation thanks to the hospitality of Theresa, Marylou and Mary Pat!
For their livestrong day event, they sponsored a fund-raiser for the LAF–employees donated $5 to be allowed to wear jeans for the day.
It was great to meet so many enthusiastic and friendly people. I was once again reminded how many talented people are working in cancer care. I have so much respect for these professionals…

Greetings from beautiful Jackson where the rain may have dampened our clothes and kept away the masses, but it couldn’t keep the LIVESTRONG spirit down!
I am here on the steps of the state capital of Mississippi with LIVESTRONG Day 2007 delegates and LIVESTRONG Army Leaders Beth Herring (fallopian tube cancer survivor), Ben Lee (two-time Hodgkin’s Disease survivor), and Cindy McGraw (breast cancer survivor) to present the LIVESTRONG Day 2008 proclamation issued by Governor Haley Barbour. Doug Beck, Patrick Chatfield and Jim Rock are spinning to raise awareness for LIVESTRONG Day and the Challenge. Despite the Seattle rain, they are doing a great job and lots of people are stopping and asking questions and taking info. A great representation in the Pacific Northwest for LIVESTRONG Day!!
Just took the slow train to Babylon where Shawn Owenburg has his evening LSD event. It was a beautiful day in New York city and looks to be a wonderful evening here on Long Island. Shawn has gotten much hype built up around his event. More to come.
