South Carolina (Continued)

May 13th, 2008 by Kathryn Fitzpatrick (LAF Staff)

I just attended my second event in Columbia, South Carolina. Stuart Morgan, cancer advocate and local LIVESTRONG Army Leader, hosted an awareness event at the South Carolina State House. This is one of the most prominent locations in SC, and it is such a beautiful LIVESTRONG Day here. The governor of South Carolina declared today LIVESTRONG Day South Carolina,  and Stuart and volunteers passed out LAF brochures and wristbands to members of the South Carolina legislature and recruited people to join the LIVESTRONG Army.

A Hope Chain was created in honor and memory of loved ones affected by cancer, and this chain will be displayed at the Dick’s Sporting Goods in Columbia for the next month. Mello Yello was provided as the signature LIVESTRONG Day drink, and everyone had a great time. Stuart- Thank you so much for organizing such a great event! I was so honored to be a part of it, and keep up the great work! I am now on my way to Beaufort, SC for Tonight We Unite, and am really looking forward to this event!
