So far, Corpus Christi LIVESTRONG© Day Corpus Christi has been wonderful and completely inspiring. We started out our day at City Hall where Mayor Henry Garrett proclaimed May 13th LIVESTRONG© Day in the city of Corpus. Army leaders, Rebecca and Robert accepted the proclamation and thanked the mayor and the council for their support of the local LIVESTRONG© Army, as well as their support of the over 12 million people affected by cancer.
We then joined Rebecca and Robert for lunch where they shared with us not only what they√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve been up to today (which includes- being up since…
I am at my second LIVESTRONG Day event in Florence, Alabama. Shannon Mcbride and her committee did an amazing job organizing a fun event with live music, balloons and LAF materials. They distributed over 200 wristbands and shared our mission with the local community. It was a blast to be a part of it.
Through both events in Birmingham and Florence, we were able to unite people in the fight against cancer.
Now, I am hitting the road to head back to Birmingham!
Hey everyone! Allison Wright here coming to you from White Plains, NY at O’Tooleapalooza Golf Tournament at Weschester Hills Golf Club. O’Tooleapalooza was organized in memory of John O’Toole, a brain cancer survivor and dedicated member of the LIVESTRONG Army who passed away in early 2007.
John’s wife Erin and her family and friends have put on a terrific event for LIVESTRONG Day. We started the morning with a lovely brunch and are now a few holes into a great day of golf. Longtime friends of the Foundation – Michael Wolf, Ilene Winters and Charles Mulea…
I just attended my second event in Columbia, South Carolina. Stuart Morgan, cancer advocate and local LIVESTRONG Army Leader, hosted an awareness event at the South Carolina State House. This is one of the most prominent locations in SC, and it is such a beautiful LIVESTRONG Day here. The governor of South Carolina declared today LIVESTRONG Day South Carolina, and Stuart and volunteers passed out LAF brochures and wristbands to members of the South Carolina legislature and recruited people to join the LIVESTRONG Army.
A Hope Chain was created in honor and memory of loved ones affected…
We left Boulder and headed south to Denver where Eric Miller had a truly unique event in progress. Eric, 2003 Tour of Hope rider and founder of the Rush-Miller Foundation that supplies tandem bikes to blind children, was once again on his bike. But this time he was attached to a crane and suspended 100 feet in the air for 24 hours! Did I mention it’s 38F and raining steadily?! But that doesn’t deter Eric as he does whatever it takes to show everyone how to LIVESTRONG every day of his life.
