I was reading this last night on an airplane flying back in to Austin after midnight. Needless to say I was tired, better yet exhausted, and this article kept my interest. What a sad state of affairs. As long as the incentives are misaligned in the traditional research community this will not change. That said, we can change this situation. Having just celebrated the birthday of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. I think it is appropriate to reference something he once said: “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”
