How we get from Kabul to Kandahar. Lewis Black, Kid Rock, Rachel Smith, “Shakes,” and Terry, our security detail. (Notice the machine gun.)

I wouldn’t mind mountain biking here in the summer …

Welcome to Kabul. Actually it shoulda said “goodbye from Kabul,” as we were on our way out …

Our “ride.” A C-130 …

This old boy was here when we first came into Afghanistan. His troop was ambushed in the mountains of southern Afghanistan and he was shot. He died three separate times on the way outta here back to the USA. He recovered, took some time off, and decided to come back … to find the guy that shot him.

The younger guys look at him like he’s Patton.

Not your normal soldiers …

A Romanian military vehicle in Kabul.

Keeping us safe from the base to the airport.

A little market along the way.

What a bad-ass team.

Talking to y’all. Sending pics, etc. How sweet is the couch?

My boys from Mississippi. Fellas, see ya at the LIVESTRONG challenge in the bay area.

You think these smiles don’t make it all worth while? BTW, we were delayed outta Iraq and they had to stand in the snow for THREE hours. They didn’t budge. Hard core.

Lewis Black: one funny dude. And becoming my good bud. He’s soooo out of his element.

Our last show in Iraq. This was in Balad.

Cool story. This young man wanted to know what message I could send to his wife who is battling cancer back home. LIVESTRONG! FYI, he’s on the other side of the fence because he was a “first responder.” If something were to happen at Balad then they are the first ones out the door to respond to the attack. They had pulled their humvees/tanks as close to the stage as possible to catch a glimpse of the show.

Romeo High’s - in Detroit - starting QB. He kicks my ass every time we have a football throwing contest.

Trying to say thanks the best I can.

Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, kicking off the show.

Miss USA, Rachel Smith.

Signing a few autographs …

Lance, it was awesome for you to come visit us while we were in Kabul. I will never forget it! Sorry I missed the LIVESTRONG Challenge. I’ll try to catch another one.
