More Photos from the road…

December 21st, 2007 by Lance Armstrong

We were stuck in Tikrit, Iraq — home of Saddam Hussein — because of a sandstorm. We stayed in this house on an old Iraqi air force base — eight of us, including me, Kid, Robin, Lewis, Bart, Kid’s roadie and buddy, “Shake,” and two guys traveling with Lewis and Robin. Robin and Lewis snored most of the night. Kid is catching up on his reading here — Ebony Magazine with Michael Jackson on the cover.

The and sunrises and sunsets here are unbelievable. Out of this world. This is a C-17 in Kuwait City. We were on our way to Al Taqaddum Air Base in Iraq.

We take photos with about 15 or 20 people at a time after each show. This is at Al Taqaddum Air Base in Iraq.

Robin doing the show at Al Taqaddum Air Base in Iraq. Robin has done this before. He told me all about it and inspired me to sign on, too.

On a tank with Robin at Camp Ramadi, Al Anbar, Iraq.

The show at Camp Ramadi. You cannot believe how they greet us. These guys are so jacked up that we are here. It’s really cool and an honor.

Lewis got in the Kevlar first…

With Bart and in Kevlar on the plane…

Kid signing autographs in Kuwait. He’s a cool guy and very smart and really popular with the troops … like their Bruce Springsteen showed up.

On a gunner from Al Taqaddum to Ramadi. About a 30 minute trip.

Hey. What’s the deal? This sign was in front of the mess hall at Al Taqaddum Air Base in Fallujah.

We are in Tikrit, Iraq here.

This is “Shake” — Kid’s roadie, guitar tech and buddy.
