Proud to be a Texan

May 9th, 2007 by Lance Armstrong

I wanted to share with everyone some exciting news today from the Lone Star state. In a 109-26 vote today, the Texas House of Representative gave preliminary approval to the passage of a constitutional amendment that would pump $3 billion (over ten years) in to high level research. The goal - ending death and suffering due to cancer.

While all of you who read this are not from Texas, this infusion of money will drive critical research that will benefit all Americans in years to come. This is a huge victory in the fight against cancer and I could not be prouder of the members of the Texas House and all who worked to make this bill a reality.

I look forward to working in the coming weeks with members of the Texas Senate to make sure this bill finds it way to the voters of Texas.

LIVESTRONG,
Lance
