Kill Cancer

March 8th, 2007 by Lance Armstrong

Yesterday LAF President, Doug Ulman, spoke at a kick off event for Kill Cancer. Kill Cancer is a Texas initiative that would bring $3 billion in cancer-related funds to the state of Texas. In doing this Texas would position itself as a leader in the fight against cancer, by bringing together the world’s top scientists with the state’s cancer treatment and research institutions to work in on a collaborated effort to deliver cures in our lifetime. The Kill Cancer initiative is a great example of creative thinking about the problem and illustrates the role that state governments can have in this fight.

Doug and LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network steering committee member, Dr. Larry Shulman, also participated in an online radio discussion yesterday for healthtalk.com. The discussion centered on the topic of cancer recurrence. You can listen to a rebroadcast of the conversation here.
