West Coast Update

February 26th, 2007 by Lance Armstrong

The Tour of California wrapped up yesterday with a big win for Team Discovery and I couldn’t be prouder of the guys and all the work they put in. As always the Paceline has you covered.

Kim Painter in today’s USA Today has a story about the decline in women receiving mammograms. As the title of the article points out that is a step “in the wrong direction.” We all understand how important early detection is to everyone and we must make sure we are all doing our personal duty - to make sure all of us as individuals are being screened, that we are encouraging our friends and family members to get screened and that we are putting pressure on our elected officials to make sure that screening is accessible to everyone.

The New York Times editorial staff also ran a good piece on the importance of the HPV vaccine. I could not agree more with them. As I said in my blog post last week “with all the talk about abstinence and parents rights and mandates - let’s not forget to talk about the part I think matters most…CANCER.”

LIVESTRONG,
Lance
